Romanian government publishes MoU inked with Huawei

The Romanian government has reportedly published a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the ‘strategic collaboration’ signed with China-based equipment vendor Huawei in November 2013, Telecompaper reports. According to the article, the MoU aims to support the expansion of Huawei’s commercial activities in the country, while also increasing the future investments by the Chinese company. Some of the government-led projects in which Huawei will be involved include the development of the national telecoms system, the road traffic monitoring and surveillance system, and e-government, smart city and broadband projects.
