Ukrainian CDMA mobile operator Intertelecom has introduced a new usage model for its premium CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev B services, announcing on its website that since 1 February 2014 all customers with compatible devices can use the Rev B services on any tariff plan, marketed under the banner ‘Turbo speed’. The operator noted that ARPU of subscribers using Rev B is ‘significantly’ higher than the average for its users of Rev A technology. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Intertelecom launched its Rev B upgrade in August 2011 and during the first half of 2012 Rev B services were expanded nationwide. In its latest announcement, the operator said that by the end of 2013 devices that support Rev B accounted for more than 60% of all equipment sold by the company. Popular compatible devices on the network include personal Wi-Fi routers and the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c. With a maximum mobile data speed of 14.7Mbps, Intertelecom says that its Rev B users receive an average download speed of 5Mbps.
