FPT’s telecoms revenues up 11% in FY13

Vietnamese telecoms, software and technology company FPT Corporation, which is the country’s second largest broadband internet provider by users, has reported its financials for the full-year 2013. According to its website, FPT’s total revenue of VND28.647 trillion (USD1.359 billion) in 2013 showed an increase of 13% compared with 2012, while pre-tax profit rose 5% year-on-year to VND2.516 trillion, and net profit reached VND2.065 trillion (with no comparison given), as the group said its core businesses defied slow economic growth. The corporation’s ‘Telecommunications’ segment represented 14.4% of all revenue in 2013, posting sales of VND4.137 trillion (USD196.3 million) – up by 11% compared with 2012. FPT added that it saw strong growth in internet and value added services for consumers and enterprises. The Telecommunications unit recorded a pre-tax profit of VND970 billion in full-year 2013, or 38.6% of the parent group’s total.
