13 Feb 2014

Thailand’s DTAC has announced that it reached twelve million 3G subscribers on its 2100MHz mobile network at the end of December 2013, up from the 3.7 million 3G customers it reported at end-September, having launched the 2100MHz service in late-July as part of its ‘TriNet’ multi-band network relaunch. DTAC recorded 3.4 million 850MHz 3G network users at the end of June, TeleGeography notes. The cellco’s ARPU remained stable at THB233 (USD7.13) in Q4 2013, compared to THB232 in Q3, although down from THB264 year-on-year. Total revenue in full-year 2013 increased by 5.7% to THB94.6 billion (USD2.90 billion), while EBITDA rose 12% to THB30 billion and EBITDA margin improved by 1.8 percentage points to 31.7%. DTAC, part of the Telenor group, also gave its outlook for 2014 including: 3-5% revenue growth; 35-36% EBITDA margin; and CAPEX of minimum THB13 billion (compared to THB14.4 billion in FY 2013).
