Orange Caraibe has introduced VDSL2 technology in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana, supporting theoretical down/uplink transmission speeds of up to 50Mbps/15Mbps. The French-backed provider has clarified that the top-level speeds will only be available to customers within a close proximity to one of Orange’s telecoms exchanges. The new service is available to all existing ‘Livebox’ triple-play users, with tariffs starting at EUR49.90 (USD68.02) per month.
