EKIP and AKEP sign cooperation deal

11 Feb 2014

The telecoms regulatory bodies of Albania and Montenegro have signed a bilateral agreement to coordinate on the use of frequencies in the 880MHz-915MHz, 925MHz-960MHz, 1710MHz-1785MHz and 1805MHz-1880MHz ranges. Agency for Electronic Communications and Post (EKIP) of Montenegro and Albania’s Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) agreed the deal with a view to harmonising principles, technical requirements and administrative procedures. The pact intends to ensure the functional operation of mobile networks without interference from network operators in neighbouring countries.
