South African technology group Dimension Data, a subsidiary of Japanese telecoms giant Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), has announced the acquisition of ‘certain subsidiaries’ of France-based technology firm NextiraOne for an undisclosed sum, Reuters reports. The first part of the process includes the acquisition of NextiraOne’s businesses in UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, Hungary and Luxembourg. Further, Dimension Data has agreed to acquire NextiraOne’s operations in France and Italy in mid-2015, provided they meet ‘certain performance conditions’.
Dimension Data’s CEO Brett Dawson has disclosed that the acquisition will help the company to reach its previously stated target of doubling its revenue to USD12 billion by 2018, while also assisting it to become Europe’s leading IT solutions and services provider. Further, NextiraOne’s operations will be rebranded as Dimension Data over the next three months. Dimension Data Europe CEO Andrew Coulsen will lead the integration of the businesses, while NextiraOne CEO David Winn will lead the remaining NextiraOne France and Italy businesses.
