Ooredoo Qatar yesterday launched a new offer under which all its post- and pre-paid mobile network users with 4G-capable devices will ‘permanently’ be given access to LTE services at no additional cost. Ooredoo chief operating officer Waleed Mohamed al-Sayed announced the new strategy, adding that post-paid customers who have already paid a premium for 4G access will be refunded; to date post-paid customers were charged an additional QAR60 (USD16) a month while pre-paid users had to pay QAR15 for a week’s LTE access. The company also confirmed that it has passed 30,000 4G customers since launching the LTE network last April.
