EWZ FTTH system passes 100,000 premises

24 Jan 2014

Zurich-based utility provider EWZ’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network has reached coverage of 100,000 homes and businesses across the city, the company said in a press release. EWZ added 20,000 buildings to the network in 2013 and plans for the infrastructure to pass 240,000 homes by 2019. EWZ operates the network on a wholesale basis only, and 15 internet service providers (ISPs) currently use the platform to offer services to end-users.
