Chilean wireless provider Entel plans to launch 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in March this year, dismissing rumours that the platform might be made available sooner, Diario Financiero quotes the operator’s general manager Antonio Buchi as saying. Buchi went on to say that Entel was in the process of taking control of Nextel Peru – following its purchase of the company from NII Holdings in August last year – and that it was working out a plan for the new acquisition in terms of investment for 2014. Further, Entel is still considering rebranding its new Peruvian unit, but is yet to decide on a new moniker for the telco: ‘we… cannot continue to operate under the name Nextel, but we still have time.’
