Cuba’s state-owned telecoms monopoly Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba (ETECSA) has announced changes to its fixed line telephony tariffs for business customers. Under Resolution 281/2013 of the Ministry of Communications (MIC), from 1 January 2014 the basic monthly fee for fixed telephony services is CUP20.00 (USD0.86) per month, with local calls charged at a rate of CUP0.20 per minute between 6am and 5.59pm and CUP0.14 per minute outside of these hours. For new customers, the line setup fee will be CUP100.00.
