Vodafone Fiji reports strong sales of 4G devices two weeks into launch

17 Dec 2013

The chief marketing officer of Vodafone Fiji, Mr Sanjeewa Perera, says that sales of the company’s new 4G devices have exploded since it launched its new Long Term Evolution (LTE) network two weeks ago. According to Perera, ‘4G devices have been an instant hit with our customers. The sales have been so good that we have already run out on few models of the 4G handsets. We may just have underestimated the demand for 4G devices particularly when the busiest Christmas shopping week is yet to come. The overwhelming response to 4G devices shows the demand in the market for devices capable of delivering faster internet speeds.’ The official added that more than 4,000 customers have signed up for 4G plans in the first two weeks of launch, with the cheapest mobile device selling at FJD199 (USD106.5). Its range currently includes the Samsung S4 models, HTC range, Nokia Lumia range, Sony Xperia handsets and other mobile devices including tablets.
