Moov extends HSPA+ network to four new locations

16 Dec 2013

One year after the initial launch of its HSPA+ network, Ivorian cellco Moov has reportedly extended its coverage to four new cities. According to Agence Ecofin, residents of Daloa, Dimbokro, Gagnoa, and Toumodi now have access to the company’s mobile broadband services. Previously, the 3.5G network was only available in Abidjan, Bingerville, Assinie, Bassam, San Pedro, Yamoussoukro and Bouake.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Orange became the first Ivorian cellco to inaugurate a 3G network, when it launched mobile broadband services in April 2012. Meanwhile, December 2012 saw the belated introduction of competition in the 3G sector as MTN and Moov launched their respective networks within a matter of days of one another.
