Ratel explains iPhone import problems

11 Nov 2013

Serbian telecoms regulator Ratel has released a statement clarifying why the import of Apple’s iPhone device has been blocked. The watchdog explained that under Serbian law, an agency within Ratel assesses radio and telecommunication terminal equipment and documentation to ensure it complies with local regulations prior to its import and sale in the republic. In the case of the iPhone, Ratel noted that a number of requests to import the device had been rejected on the ground that necessary documentation was incomplete or missing.
