An unconfirmed report in the Dutch newspaper NL Times says that local mobile operator T-Mobile NL has begun turning on its new 4G network, ahead of its official launch on 18 November. The cellco’s subscribers are already able to benefit from faster mobile internet access through the cellco’s 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, it says. With T-Mobile users reporting via social web sites that they now have 4G, the company confirmed that from Monday it began allowing access to its new infrastructure so that by the official launch date, everyone in areas served by T-Mobile’s 4G network will be ‘switched over’. Initially, T-Mobile NL’s new network is confined to the country’s four largest cities, and it now becomes the third carrier – behind KPN Mobile The Netherlands and Vodafone Netherlands – to start a 4G deployment in the country.
