BT Ireland delivers ‘solid set of results’ for BT Group in second quarter

1 Nov 2013

Colm O’Neill, chief executive officer, BT Ireland, says that the company continues to make good progress in the Republic, delivering a ‘solid set of results’ in its fiscal second-quarter ended 30 September 2013. Parent BT Group reported a 1% increase in half year revenue to nearly GBP9 billion (USD14.5 billion), noting that its Irish business increased its revenue by 2% in the second quarter, reflecting ‘growth in the business division’, thanks to its IT services capabilities and global communications network, which is proving to be a key differentiator in the market. BT Ireland says that during July-September it signed a four-year EUR14 million (USD19.3 million) contract to deliver next generation access and other services to UTV Connect in the Republic of Ireland.
