Vodafone will become first operator to offer 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in Malta on 1 November, local media reports have indicated. The mobile operator made its first live transmission over the network at a press event earlier this month, while the network will go live on two of the three largest islands, namely Malta and Gozo. Vodafone Malta CEO Balesh Sharma has been quoted as saying that the rollout cost EUR10 million (USD13.6 million) and took six months to complete.
