Airtel launching mobile payment pilot

Airtel Seychelles is launching a three-month pilot of its ‘Airtel Money’ mobile payment service via an agreement with the country’s Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) and the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT). The Airtel Money m-commerce system enables subscribers to deposit and withdraw money in and out of a virtual bank account, check balances, pay utility bills and transfer money, and will be piloted with up to 500 users in the Seychelles.
