PTCL to provide free data centre service to ministry

Fixed line incumbent Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd (PTCL) and the Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will allow the latter to host e-government software applications at a PTCL data centre. Pakistan Today writes that under the MoU PTCL will provide the service, free of charge, for the next 15 months, citing PTCL President Waleed Irshad as saying that the company fully supports the government’s implementation of e-governance.
