BTC boosts BDSNi

Bahamas Telecommunication Company (BTC) has selected Chinese vendor Huawei Marine Networks to upgrade the Bahamas Domestic Submarine Network International (BDSNi) with its Optix BWS 1600S Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE). The solution will boost the capacity of the 3,500km BDSNi system, which links 20 sites between Bahamas and Haiti, to 640Gbps, enabling the delivery of more flexible and cost-effective services.
