Com Hem’s revenue slides year-on-year in Q2

Swedish cableco Com Hem’s revenue amounted to SEK1.108 billion (USD170 million) in the second quarter of 2013, down from SEK1.148 billion in the corresponding period of 2012. EBITDA was SEK547 million in April-June 2013, up from SEK541 million in Q2 2012. Unique subscribers at the end of June 2013 stood at 821,700, a slight decrease from 823,400 in the preceding quarter, while the number of cable broadband subscriptions rose marginally to 543,400 at mid-2013, compared to 542,400 three months earlier. The number of homes connected to Com Hem’s HFC cable network at the end of June 2013 reached 1.78 million, an increase of 30,000 from a year earlier. The cableco will launch a new TiVo-based multi-platform service and 500Mbps cable internet packages in the third quarter of this year.
