Telekom Austria, KPN International announce wholesale partnership

14 Aug 2013

Telekom Austria Group and KPN International have initiated a partnership deal that encompasses the interconnection of Ethernet, IP VPN, Wavelength and IPT services to maximise high volumes of traffic and establish an increased presence in Europe. Following the strategic partnership the two companies’ various data services will be made available for target groups such as international wholesale carriers and prominent business customers.

The two parties have confirmed that the network connection will be established in Frankfurt with a back-up in Vienna. The IP backbone connects, amongst others, the four most important Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in Europe: Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Paris. A total of 173 points of presence (PoP) within 35 countries across Europe and North America will be covered by the backbone.
