Ucelll sales leap 65% in second quarter

TeliaSonera’s Uzbek subsidiary Ucell reported a 65.2% jump in net sales for the three months to the end of June 2013 to SKR783 million (USD118.7 million). EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) grew from SKR155 million in the second quarter of 2012 to SKR438 million in the same period of 2013, UzDaily reports. The firm had 8.178 million subscribers at 30 June 2013, representing year-on-year growth of 5.3%. Average monthly minutes of use (MoU) per subscribers stood at 310 minutes in 2Q 2013, up from 252 minutes a year before. TeliaSonera has a 94% interest in Ucell, with the remainder held by local investors.
