T-Mobile’s Czech mobile unit yesterday launched a trial of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the area of Mlada Boleslav, in the capital Prague, offering triallists the opportunity to experience ultra-high speed mobile access via an LTE-capable device. The cellco says that under the trail, end users will be able to enjoy maximum down/upload speeds of 100Mbps/37.5Mbps. Commenting on the development, T-Mobile CR product director Milan Haba, said: ‘The trial run will not [affect customers’ existing] data packages or tariffs [where] data is downloaded via LTE, so that they can fully test the network.’ The test will run at least two months, it says, after which T-Mobile CR will assess customer feedback before further enhancing its LTE network prior to commercial launch.
