No progress in bilateral talks

24 Jun 2013

Another round of technical talks between Kosovo and Serbia has ended without any results or tangible progress, Serbian telecoms minister Rasim Ljajic is quoted by new portal B92 as saying. The main issues on the agenda were an international calling code for Kosovo, and the status of Telekom Srbija in the breakaway republic. According to Ljajic, Serbia was: ‘Absolutely prepared to reach an economically and technically viable solution, but the problem was that we were always faced with new proposals and details, even for the things which were already agreed.’ The Minister went on to say that, despite the hold-up Belgrade is ‘ready to continue the dialogue and put in even more of an effort into finally resolving the issue of telecommunications in the talks with Pristina.’
