Pan-Caribbean telecoms group Digicel has booked revenues of USD2.78 billion in the year ended 31 March 2013, representing an 8% increase year-on-year. EBITDA for the year grew by 11% compared to the previous year, to USD1.2 billion, whilst subscribers grew by 1% y-o-y to 12.9 million across the group’s 30 markets. Commenting on the launch of HSPA+ networks – which the group brands ‘4G’ – in the British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago as well as the inauguration of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) platform in Antigua and Barbuda, Digicel noted that data and value added services (VAS) made up 23% of service revenues, compared to 20% in the year to end-March 2012.
