Bulgaria’s telecoms regulator the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has adopted a draft consultation paper on the provision of national roaming service with Decision No. 450 of 14 June 2013. The watchdog has also opened a public consultation on the topic, and interested parties have 30 days to post comments, starting 21 June 2013. According to the draft document, the CRC seeks to develop more effective competition within the telecoms market in the country in order to stimulate growth of mobile services. The CRC also stated that national roaming service will stimulate the entry of new mobile providers by removing the current infrastructure barrier in the telecommunications market and will increase investments in new technology by providing reasonable time scale to new entrants to deploy their own networks and reach 20% population coverage.
