LINK abandons consumer market

3 Jun 2013

Internet service provider (ISP) LINKdotNET will close down residential DSL service in Pakistan from 30 June this year, with all subscribers to such services to be transferred to incumbent Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd (PTCL), according to local press reports. LINK will continue to operate in Pakistan, but will restrict its services to corporate users only. LINKdotNET DSL users will be transferred to PTCL on 30 June 2013, although it was unclear whether or not customers would be able to keep the same packages or would be required to sign up to a PTCL equivalent.
