CRC announces public tender for BTC audit

14 May 2013

Bulgarian telecom regulator the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has announced the start of an open tender procedure for the evaluation of the net costs for the provision of universal service by Bulgarian Telecommunication Company (BTC) in fiscal year 2011. The auction is a result of the submitted request by fixed line incumbent BTC to offset the net costs for providing universal service on the entire territory of the country. Under the Electronic Communications Act (Article No. 207 [paragraph 3]), the CRC is required to assign an independent auditor of the BTC accounts, with the evaluation process of BTC accounts set to last no more than 90 days. All interested parties should purchase the required application documents by 27 May 2013, while the deadline for submitting bids is set for 6 June 2013.
