8 May 2013

Irish cable service provider UPC Ireland, owned by US-based Liberty Global Inc, says that its total subscriber base climbed to 1.012 million in the first three months of this year, thanks to the popularity of its fibre-based broadband, TV and voice telephony services. Indeed, in January-March UPC Ireland signed up a net 23,800 residential and business users as its subscriber tally rose 10% year-on-year to pass the one million mark. Of the total, the cableco said that 382,300 were signed up to its digital TV service, 315,700 were broadband internet users (16% y-o-y) and 254,700 were connected to its voice services (36%).
