Osiptel plans tariff controls

11 Apr 2013

Telecoms watchdog Osiptel has announced plans to amend tariff regulations, obliging operators to list individual prices for services within bundled deals. The proposed changes are intended to provide customers with more information, with a view to increasing competition. Further, the amendments would prohibit an operator from applying pricing plans that are less favourable than those already on the market. Osiptel would also modify its service price comparison tool, the Sistema de Consulta de Tarifas (SIRT). Stakeholders have 30 days to submit comments on the planned changes before Osiptel makes a final ruling.
