Connection failed? ISP rumoured to have bitten the dust

According to Dom-Tom ADSL, a website focusing on telecoms activities in the French overseas territories, internet service provider (ISP) CanalConnect, which offers services in Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinque and Reunion has been shut down. The company, a joint venture between Outremer Telecom and Canal Overseas, which is part of the Canal+ Group, which in turn is owned by Vivendi, offered broadband connectivity and IPTV to residents of the four overseas territories. Dom-Tom ADSL notes that all CanalConnect subscribers will be transferred across to Outremer Telecom’s ‘Only’-branded service, which is available in all four of the markets in question.
