SRR Reunion, a 100% owned unit of French operator Societe Francaise du Radiotelephone (SFR) which is itself majority owned by Vivendi, has marked its third anniversary of operations in the country with the launch of a new bouquet of television channels, branded ‘Cinema TV’. SRR Reunion launched commercial mobile operations on 15 February 2010 before becoming the nation’s second fixed internet provider in 2012. The operator claims to have already signed up almost 40,000 neufbox! ADSL subscribers, giving it a strong foothold in Reunion where 170,000 out of 305,000 households had an internet connection at the end of 2012 – a penetration rate of 55%.
Online journal DOMTOM ADSL cites local newspaper Cote News as saying that to mark the occasion, SRR Reunion is launching four new channels, including Bouquet Cinema TV (Cine + Star + Famiz Cine, Cine and Cine Club + Classic). Prices start from EUR9.90 (USD13.20) per month with no fixed contract commitment, with the carrier looking to enhance the service during 2013 with the addition of new channels such as Cine + Premier + Frisson Cine and Cine + Emotion. Triple-play options are also available, with typical monthly rates of EUR50.
