T-Mobile’s Dutch mobile subsidiary plans to begin the rollout of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the 1800MHz band in August this year, ahead of the planned launch of services in the autumn. Work on the new infrastructure will take place once the country has completed its phased transition of 1800MHz band licences. Telecompaper writes that T-Mobile Netherlands is targeting nation-wide coverage for LTE in H2 2013, and to achieve that goal is actively upgrading or replacing base stations or installing microcells at busy locations, in city centres and at football stadia.
