MTS poised to launch fixed broadband in ten cities

Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) plans to launch fixed broadband and pay-TV services in ten cities in Siberia, the Urals and the Far Eastern Federal District in the first quarter of this year, Telecompaper reports. In addition, MTS has revealed that it intends to move all of its pay-TV subscribers onto digital platforms by 2014; digital TV services are currently offered by the company in 70 cities.
