BSCCL’s submarine six-month revenues rise to USD8.2m

Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL), which manages access to the country’s sole international submarine cable, SEA-ME-WE-4, has reported a rise in revenues for the six-month period July-December 2012 to BDT667 million (USD8.2 million), up from BDT561 million in the same period of 2011. Operating profit also increased to BDT485 million, up from BDT439 million, although operating profit margin shrank from 78% to 73%. BSCCL was previously spun off from state-owned incumbent telco BTCL.
