Telia signs open fibre agreement with Torsby in Varmland

TeliaSonera Sweden (Telia) has signed a cooperation agreement with the municipality of Torsby in Varmland to deploy, maintain and operate an open fibre network, aiming to connect 5,500 households and businesses next year and 100% of residents by 2020. Fibre will be deployed to urban and rural areas of the municipality, with homes and businesses able to choose between several providers of broadband, digital TV and telephony over the open network operated by Telia, which promises connection speeds of up to 1Gbps.
