Paraguayan mobile operator Hola, which operates under the Vox brand name, has revealed that it plans to introduce Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in capital city Asuncion and the neighbouring Central department, in Eastern Paraguay. Local website ABC.com.py quotes company spokesman Abelardo Martinez as saying that Vox aims to deploy 200 4G base stations in the region, of which 100 are already installed. The network is set to go live over the Christmas period, and will reportedly offer end-users downlink transmission speeds of between 20Mbps and 30Mbps.
