30 Nov 2012

Autoridade Geral de Regulacao (AGER), Sao Tome and Principe’s multi-sector regulator, has invited investors to take part in a tender for the country’s second fixed and mobile telecoms licence, in a bid to end the monopoly held by national PTO Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes (CST). The licence includes capacity on the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) fibre-optic cable system, which is expected to launch by the end of this year. The file of the tender invitation will be available to investors until 17 January 2013.
