NBTC board endorses committee’s 3G auction approval, aiming to deflect Ombudsman’s petition

15 Nov 2012

The board of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has officially endorsed its telecom committee’s approval of last month’s 3G auction results, reports the Bangkok Post. A group of senators had submitted a petition to the Administrative Court via the office of the Ombudsman, alleging that the telecom committee’s endorsement of the 2100MHz licence auction was illegal, on the basis that legislation stated that the regulator’s entire board should ratify the result.
