Leap Wireless International says that it has extended its in-deployment Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Philadelphia and Phoenix, as well as numerous markets in Texas, including Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Corpus Christi and Brownsville-McAllen-Harlingen. The announcement reportedly completes the first phase of the company’s introduction of LTE technology. Leap initially deployed its 4G service in Tucson, Arizona in December 2011, before extending connectivity to Las Vegas in October 2012. The company’s LTE network now covers approximately 21 million potential customers across eleven different markets.
