Airspan sets up Guineanet for WiMAX-LTE migration

14 Nov 2012

Guinean 700MHz WiMAX operator Guineanet has expanded its network using equipment provided by Airspan Networks, reports Marketwire. The deployment uses Airspan’s Air4G macro base station, integrating Long Term Evolution (LTE) and WiMAX platforms, allowing Guineanet to migrate to LTE with a software-only upgrade.

CEO and co-owner of the operator Tim Edwards added that the capability for simple migration to LTE offered by Airspan’s solution ‘perfectly suited out business model and expansion plans.’
