Unwired claims a first for ‘4G’ in Fiji

13 Nov 2012

Unwired Fiji is claiming to be the first telco in the country able to offer ‘4G’ technology, corporate sales manager Charlotte Taylor is quoted as saying. At an information event held by the firm last Thursday, Ms Taylor said Unwired is the first firm providing portable ultra-high speed broadband internet access, from desktops to laptops and from tablets to smartphones and other mobile devices with Wi-Fi connectivity. ‘It has the ability to transfer more data over longer distances and with WiMAX we get faster speed with a lot more capacity,’ she said. Unwired Fiji’s new service is reportedly accessible in Suva, Nausori, Lami, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka and Ba.
