CableVision debuts residential broadband service

9 Nov 2012

The Royal Gazette in Bermuda reports that domestic cable services provider CableVision has launched a new ultra-high speed residential internet service – a first on the island. The commercial launch of the cableco’s new ‘Broadband Link’ plans offer speeds of 15Mbps for BMD90 (USD90) a month, rising to BMD140 a month for a 25Mbps connection via DOCSIS 3.0 technology. The service launch eclipses the current maximum 10Mbps/1Mbps (download/upload) service available to householders in Bermuda. CableVision added that the new service is available ‘island-wide’. Commenting on the launch Terry Roberson, general manager of Bermuda CableVision, said: ‘Power users, families in connected homes with numerous devices, geeks, gamers and anyone who craves more speed, will appreciate these new Broadband Link services.’
