TOT-Softbank 4G talks restarted

25 Oct 2012

Thai newspaper The Nation reports that partnership talks between state-owned telco TOT and Japanese cellco Softbank have been resurrected, with the development of 4G LTE mobile services on the agenda. Talks on forming a strategic partnership were previously suspended when TOT’s management board changed, but acting president Montchai Noosong has revealed that discussions have resumed. TOT is seeking regulatory permission to use its existing 2.3GHz spectrum to roll out TD-LTE mobile broadband services.
