EUR200m EIB loan to assist 3’s LTE rollout in Sweden, Denmark

Hong Kong-owned Hutchison Whampoa’s 3 Scandinavia division – comprising its Hi3G Access (3) mobile network operating units in Sweden and Denmark – has sought a EUR200 million (USD259 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to help finance its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) rollouts in both countries.
