Vodafone Ireland’s Complete purchase will expand enterprise reach

2 Oct 2012

The Irish Times writes that Vodafone’s Irish subsidiary has concluded the acquisition of fellow telco Complete Telecom as part of a wider plan to expand and extend the reach of its enterprise business in the Republic. Based in Dublin, Complete Telecom provides enterprise managed data network and fixed telecoms services, and is particularly strong in the government and public sector. The smaller carrier was set up in 2001 and employs 23 staff who will be moved to Vodafone Ireland as part of the deal. Complete Telecom currently has about 300 customers, the paper said.

Anne O’Leary, enterprise director at Vodafone Ireland, said that the move forms part of its aim to become the number one provider of telecoms services for both the business community and the public sector in the Republic. With the new acquisition Vodafone will be able to offer its users a range of bespoke fixed and mobile converged telecoms services, she said. The company said about 20% of its revenues currently come from its enterprise managed data network, a figure it expects to double over the next five years.
