PTCL revenues grow 8% for 2011-12

Incumbent telco the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) has booked net profits of PKR7.24 billion (USD76.08 million) for FY2011-12, ended 30 June 2012, on the back of annual revenue growth of 8.0%. Total revenues for the twelve month period were PKR110.8 billion, up from PKR102.6 billion a year earlier. As noted by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, PTCL provides broadband and fixed telephony services as well as wireless, which is offered via its wholly owned subsidiary Pakistan Telecommunication Mobile Ltd (PTML) under the ‘Ufone’ moniker. During the period under review, PTML’s customer base grew by 14.7% to 23.55 million.
