Vodafone’s Dutch operation is hoping to introduce a triple-play service over VDSL technology in the Netherlands in early-2013, including HD channels, according to Telecompaper. A spokesperson for Vodafone NL said that whilst the outline plan of the VDSL service has already been announced, no concrete details on rates and tariff plans are available as negotiations are still ongoing. Vodafone NL currently offers a double-play internet and telephony DSL product via KPN’s wholesale service, and sees TV as the next logical add-on. The paper also notes that Vodafone NL has been participating with KPN’s Reggefiber unit, which is deploying fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks across part so the country. Vodafone has been working with Reggefiber’s fibre sign-up process for the past year, and currently provides commercial services on FTTH networks.
