The CEO of Vodafone Ghana, Kyle Whitehill, says that he hopes his company and other telecoms operators in Ghana will list on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) within the next two years. Speaking with Adom News Editor Nii Narku Dowuona, the executive said that placement of shares on the local bourse was one way in which Ghanaians could share in the wealth from the telecoms industry. Whitehill also outlined his belief that consolidation in the Ghanaian telecoms market was inevitable, although the process is slower than he originally expected 18 months ago due to the rate at which the sector is still growing. Officials of rival operators MTN and Tigo have also hinted at possible listings on the GSE, although there have been no concrete developments to date.
